Two weekends ago we headed to South Georgia to visit with Darin’s family for their annual “Wynn Family Reunion”. The last time we visited in December we stayed at the Paxton House Inn in Thomasville,GA which is near where his mom lives. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Tallahassee, FL and one of the cutest little towns.

Thomasville is known for its many plantations ( I have yet to visit!) and it’s downtown charm. There are many boutiques, antique shops and delicious restaurants you can try- definitely a must visit.

We checked into the Paxton House Inn Friday afternoon and were shown to our room. We stayed in the Hansell House (unit 2) which is more of a modern style than traditional bed and breakfasts. The main building has several rooms and then there are 3 outside houses that have several rooms to rent. There is even a full cottage if you are wanting to rent a shared space for your family. You can check out their rooms here.

Here is the inside of the Hansell House (unit 2) room. You have a little kitchenette with your own Keurig, sink and dishware.

The bed is so comfy along with a nice fluffy down comforter.

The bathroom is right off the main room with a walk-in shower and an overall new and clean feel.

This is the Garden Cottage which has 4 bedrooms that makes for a great stay for a large family!

During your stay you can wander the grounds where they have two local cats (my favorite), free wine, beer and spirits along with snacks such as fresh baked cookies. The style and decor throughout the home is beautiful and feels almost too nice to relax in but the owner makes you feel right at home.

We enjoyed the warm evenings on the wide open porches with a glass of wine.

Thank you Paxton House Inn for a lovely stay- we will be back soon!

We enjoyed the rest of our time visiting with Darin’s family and exploring the fields he grew up hunting and playing on. It’s always nice to get away to the quiet farms and take in all the beauty of nature.
