The Christmas season is officially over, whew! Normally I am giddy with glee over the holiday season but come work in the mall for a few days with me and you will believe otherwise. It is CHAOS for 3 weeks and then finally, you breathe.

We did slow down enough to enjoy Christmas Eve dinner with my mom’s side of the family in Pensacola. My parents came down from Georgia to visit and sadly my sister and brother weren’t able to come this year. Fingers crossed we see them in the New Year.

Christmas morning rolled in with weather chilly enough for a fire, my favorite way to wind down and enjoy staring at the Christmas tree.

Meezmo was on Santa watch…{dreaming of chasing birds}

“Darin get a picture of Meez and I by the fire”. The closest thing to a “family” picture we have this year.

Darin was on fire duty, he does a good job. I usually forget to open the chimney flue and then we have the fire alarm going off.

My parents drove over from Pensacola to spend Christmas day with us. We got to work on Christmas brunch. My sweet daddy enjoyed some coffee and relaxation after a busy working year.

My mom and I put the final touches on getting the food and table ready and then we were ready to eat! (I should have taken a photo of us all sitting down but I forgot, shame on me!)

On the menu: Scrambled Eggs, Jalapeno Cheese Grits, Cinnamon Rolls, Buttermilk Biscuits and Fresh Fruit (for healthy measure). There was no lack of carbs in this brunch, we know how to prepare for winter hibernation.

I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas holiday and are relaxing into the New Year! See you soon with some New Year Fitness and Health inspiration! {Definitely needed after the above indulgences.}
