Good evening! I hope you guys are enjoying your “extra” hour from the time change. It feels so late now with how dark it is outside. I love this time of year when it’s brighter in the morning and dark in the evenings. This weekend was spent celebrating one of my dear friends, Victoria. She’s getting married in April and I’m her maid of honor so we had our first wedding shower this past Saturday. I wanted to share photos with you as well as some DIY- Pinterest ideas that turned out great.

A few months ago I made these Doily Wedding Shower Invites. Here is what I used to make them:

  • Invitation paper & envelopes
  • 8 inch Doily’s << in the cake section of hobby stores. Also found them at Dollar Tree.
  • 3 yds of Ribbon

You simply address your invites and then place them in the middle of the doily. Find the center of the sides of the doily, lace through a 6-8 inch piece of ribbon and tie in a knot or bow!

Ta-da you are done!

On Friday, our friend Sarah flew in to spend the weekend with Vic and I and to be here for the shower. The three of us were roommates for 3 years in college and are the closest of friends. It was great to spend time with them. We stayed up until 1:30am Friday night frosting cupcakes for the shower, sharing wine and catching up on life.

We used Mason Jars as vases and applied adhesive lace (<<best stuff ever) around the jars and then filled them with flowers.

After finishing up with baking and decorating, we headed to sleep and woke up early Saturday to continue making food and decorating the house.

We set-up a table with some pictures of Victoria and her fiance Caio. Another DIY idea is to get matching Thank You Notes that match the invitations and have everyone write down their address on the cards so that the bride can already have them ready to send off after the shower.

My favorite DIY Pinterest idea from the shower was the Mimosa table.

I had (3) decanters with Pineapple, Cranberry & Orange juice along with (2) bowls of Blackberries and Strawberries. And of course, Champagne to mix in πŸ™‚ We also had Lemonade and Sweet Tea in beverage dispensers.

I made (2) Pinterest recipes that were surprisingly my first Pinterest recipes to ever make. Let’s talk about procrastination, I wonder how long ago I started pinning recipes I have never made. The first recipe was these Caprese Bites. So simple and easy to make but a perfect finger food.

I used the extra shower invites and cut them into place cards and wrote the names of the food items on them. My second Pinterest recipe was Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries. They were delicious and my favorite food item.

I also found these Sweet Advice for the Bride cards from Pinterest and had everyone fill out their advice to give the bride. I’m not a big fan of games at showers and I like this idea. You can also see the adhesive lace on the jar below.

The beautiful bride-to-be and the maid of honor πŸ™‚ I’m so glad she enjoyed her shower and received some cute gifts.

Sarah and I enjoying the shower. After all the planning and decorating it was great to sit back, eat, drink and enjoy the guests.

I was so glad Ashley was there! She is so fun to spend time with.

I hope you guys enjoyed my DIY Pinterest ideas for the shower! Feel free to follow me at Pinterest and I’d love to see your boards as well!
