Good afternoon friends! I hope you guys are enjoying your afternoon! The weekend is so close! I hope you enjoyed Thirsty Thursday this morning and I wanted to share two things with you today! One is Finds related and one is Fitness.

Finds

I have never really shared that one of my reasons for starting this blog was to help track my health and share my fitness, finds and food with you because I love to teach others. I have an Early Childhood Education Degree and thought that I wanted to teach kids in the classroom. But after college I realized that wasn’t really my passion. My passion is to help others and kids are definitely one part of that broad spectrum, but I hope to one day be apart of an organization or non-profit that helps others along with teaching people how to live a healthy and active life.

While I’m traveling with my husband’s company right now I’m trying to get involved how I can wherever I am. Our apartment complex partnered with a local organization down here in Florida called Women in Distress to collect school supplies for students who worry about their mothers not being able to afford it for them. While some of you may think, oh I don’t have time or money right now to donate towards a cause, it’s really easier than you think!

Yesterday I went to Big Lots with my list of supplies and started shopping.

Little did I know that we could fund 4 kids school supplies for under $20 total!

My total was $23.00 but I bought 3 items for myself so it ended up being around $18 for the school supplies. Here are the goodies I snagged below.

  • (4) packs of crayons
  • (4) sets of 3pk glue
  • (6) highlighters
  • (4) scissors
  • (4) pks of paper
  • (4) spiral bound notebooks
  • (4) 3 ring binders
  • (4) 6pk # 2 pencils

While they aren’t special colors or specific brands, I know these kids will be thankful for the supplies they receive!

I wanted to share this to encourage you to see how you can get involved in your community! You can even get involved with the Women in Distress organization and donate to their cause! This event encouraged me to find out more ways I can get involved in my community.

Fitness

When I came home from work today I really wanted to do a total body workout that would get my heart rate up. So after looking around at my favorite fitness inspirations, I settled on these 3 workouts:

1. Zuzana’s This is Sweat Workout #26- 13 minutes

3. Fitnessista’s Tabata Thursday Workout – 4 minutes

It ended up being a total body workout for 27 minutes and left me very sweaty!
