Good morning! Later today I’m going to share my meal plans and grocery saving tips with you! Here is the rest of our weekend re-cap from our trip in Naples. If you missed the first part you can read it here.
After we were rained out and relaxed with S’mores, we dressed up and got ready to go downstairs for dinner at the restaurant in the resort.
We walked to the Strip House restaurant where we found out they were booked up for an event. Then we went to the other restaurant at the resort and their menu was super pricey and didn’t have very many options, so we decided to find a place down the road from the resort. We decided on Brio Tuscan Grille.
We sat outside on the patio (my favorite) and looked over the menu.
They had so many choices at a good price and their food sounded amazing.
They brought fresh bread and flat bread crisps to the table for us to snack on while we waited.
I ordered the Shrimp and Lobster stuffed ravioli which was SO good. I loved the all of the flavors together.
Darin went with the Tuscan Chicken with Spaghetti and Tomato Sauce, I tried a bite and it was also amazing. We were glad we tried out something different instead of just settling for a restaurant in the resort.
We came back to the resort after dinner and relaxed in their lounge and ordered some dessert.
We ordered a Red Velvet Cake with Chocolate Mousse on the side. It was pretty good but we were expecting more of an icing type of cake.
We also wanted Cheesecake flavor so went with two of the Key Lime Cheesecake Mini Dessert Shots. A little tart for my taste but that’s what you get when you order Key Lime 🙂
We relaxed in the lounge area before going to bed. The next morning we went down to the buffet for breakfast. Before being seated I asked the lady how much their breakfast buffet price was- $23/per person!! I’m sorry but there is no way I would eat that much food to pay for the price. We again ventured off from the resort and I used my Urban Spoon app to find a local breakfast place. Skillets had great reviews and was a mile from our resort.
Skillets had a good “home cooked” feel with iron skillets hanging on the walls and tons of families eating breakfast.
Their menu was full of delicious items and I didn’t even know what to pick. I finally decided on the Avocado, Tomato and Pepper-jack Fritata. When my plate came to the table I know I should have split something with Darin. It had hashbrowns, fruit and a biscuit on the side- not to mention that huge pile of eggs! Darin had an egg skillet which had potatoes mixed in with the eggs.
Both of our meals were SO delicious! The avocado with the egg was such a great flavor mixture. I ate about half of the meal and then we each took half of ours back with us to eat later.
Once we got back to the hotel we headed down to the beach to go Paddle Boarding! One of my summer goals. But sadly, just like the day before, we laid down on our chairs only to see grey clouds coming our way (of course!!!).
I checked out the radar on my Weather Channel App and this pretty picture looked back at me. Apparently a nice Tropical Wave had developed overnight and was heading right at us.
Sadly, Paddle Boarding and sun tanning was out of the question. We headed back to Pembroke Pines but our drive was definitely stormy. While we got rained out from the sun, we still had fun together and enjoyed a break from work and relaxing together! I’m hoping I can go Paddle Boarding soon!
What is one thing you want to do this Summer? Mine is Paddle Boarding and a Summer concert!
