Good afternoon! Our trip to Naples, Florida was so much fun and we got back last night. As I mentioned in my last post, we got engaged in Naples a year ago today and we wanted to re-visit where we got engaged to celebrate!

We headed over to Naples on Saturday afternoon after Darin was off work. It was  about a 1.5 hour drive from here. The weather was beautiful and sunny, a perfect day for the beach!

We drove into the Waldorf Astoria Resort and I immediately started snapping pictures of course.

We were able to get an early check-in and went upstairs to our room. Sadly they were out of king rooms but two queens works! The hotel rooms here are so nice and comfy.

The view from our room was the best. The hotel is positioned between a Mangrove forest with a water way and then the beach.

Darin caught up on the Open Championship while I got ready for the beach.

We headed down through the pool area and toward the beach walkway.

There is a tram pickup which is nice so you don’t have to walk the half mile to the beach. We didn’t want to wait and decided to make the trek down for some exercise and to see the sights.

The Mangrove forest is so beautiful but it was definitely hot on our walk.

This is the view of the canal that flows between the ocean and the hotel, so lovely!

The hotel has a section on the beach with free umbrellas and cushioned seats. We got a nice spot and laid out in the sun.

I love this guy! We love the beach so much.

Then after about 30 minutes, the sky turned to this nice grey color and huge rain drops fell from the sky. This is Darin in the water soaking up the storm. I huddled under the umbrella using my towel as a blanket.

We made our way up to the beach front cafe and decided to wait out the storm and grab some lunch.

I had a salad with avocado, tomato, croutons and parmesan on top. It was really fresh and good surprisingly for a place that serves chicken tenders and fries.

Sadly the storm didn’t pass and we were rained in for the day. We were able to catch a ride back on the tram and headed back to explore our hotel.

The resort has a nice bar area where you can order appetizers or a drink throughout the day.

When we got back it was “Saturday S’mores” time and they had free S’mores for you to snack on. You don’t have to ask me twice.

We went back to the room since it was still down pouring and relaxed before getting ready for dinner! More pictures to come of our trip!

What’s your favorite beach spot to vacation to? We love the Gulf of Mexico, I especially love Pensacola Beach where I grew up going with my family.
